Geospatial AnalystJob Description This fully remote Geospatial Analyst role focuses on imagery analysis, feature data extraction from satellite imagery, and digital mapping in a production environment that emphasizes quality, timeliness, and collaboration. You will support U.S. Government geospatial work by collecting and editing topographic features and contributing to high-quality geospatial datasets while working closely with an all-remote team. Responsibilities + Perform imagery analysis and extract feature data from satellite imagery to create accurate digital maps and geospatial datasets. + Collect and edit topographic features such as roads, rivers, buildings, and other relevant features in accordance with project specifications. + Work in a production environment, consistently meeting or exceeding established milestones, estimated hours, and quality standards. + Apply geospatial standards and methodologies such as TDS, MGCP, MUVD, and conflation where applicable to ensure data consistency and integrity. + Document and communicate the project numbers you support, the duration of your involvement, and the specific mapping responsibilities you handle on each project. + Collaborate effectively with an all-remote team, maintaining clear and timely communication to support project goals and resolve issues. + Use GIS and geospatial software tools, including ESRI-based applications, to perform feature data extraction and digital mapping tasks. + Support geospatial work for U.S. Government customers, including projects that align with NGA-related requirements and standards. + Manage your workload to complete assigned tasks within estimated hours while maintaining required quality metrics. + Be prepared to work more than 40 hours per week when needed to meet project deadlines and production milestones. + Work at a computer for extended periods, focusing on detailed imagery and geospatial data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. + Access and operate a provided work computer remotely using your personal computer and internet connection in a secure and reliable manner. Essential Skills + Proven experience in imagery analysis, feature data extraction from satellite imagery, and digital mapping in a production environment. + Hands-on experience with TDS, MGCP, MUVD, and conflation, with the ability to discuss specific projects and responsibilities. + Demonstrated ability to consistently complete feature data extraction tasks within estimated hours while meeting or exceeding quality requirements. + Experience supporting U.S. Government geospatial work, including proven experience supporting NGA-related projects. + Strong GIS and geospatial skills, including practical experience with ESRI and related GIS tools. + BS degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field with multiple GIS courses, or equivalent GIS experience that demonstrates comparable proficiency. + Ability to quickly come up to speed on new projects and workflows and contribute effectively in a production-focused environment. + Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on an all-remote team and clearly explain project work, timelines, and issues. + Comfort with working at a desk and computer for at least eight hours per day while maintaining focus and accuracy. + Ability and willingness to work more than 40 hours per week as needed to meet deadlines and production goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous experience directly supporting the Janus Geography contract performing feature data extraction. + Experience working on projects that involve TDS, MGCP, MUVD, and conflation workflows, with the ability to describe project numbers, durations, and mapping responsibilities. + Prior experience performing feature data extraction for other organizations on similar government geospatial contracts. + Advanced coursework or training in GIS, geography, remote sensing, or related geospatial disciplines. + Experience working in a highly metric-driven production environment with defined milestones and quality standards. + Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, track project details, and document work clearly. + Comfort working independently in a remote setting while maintaining accountability and consistent communication with the team. Work Environment This role offers a fully remote work environment supporting U.S. Government geospatial projects. You will use your personal computer and internet connection to securely access and work on an assigned work computer. The position involves sitting at a desk and working on a computer for at least eight hours per day, focusing on detailed satellite imagery and geospatial data. Work is highly production-oriented, with clear milestones, estimated hours, and quality standards that you are expected to meet or exceed. The team operates in an all-remote, collaborative environment that relies on clear communication and reliable connectivity. Work hours are generally full-time, with the expectation that you may work more than 40 hours per week when necessary to meet project deadlines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Huntsville, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
