This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging boundary, ALTA/NSPS, and cadastral surveying projects while developing advanced technical and professional surveying skills. Unlike many CAD positions that focus primarily on production drafting, this role provides direct exposure to real-world boundary resolution, title research, deed interpretation, and surveying analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with licensed land surveyors on projects that require research, analysis, and professional judgment. We are a technically focused surveying firm that values accuracy, professional development, and solving complex boundary and title issues. Our team regularly works on projects that require research, analysis, and professional judgment, not simply drafting field data. Position Overview This position will focus primarily on cadastral surveying, including residential and commercial as-built surveys, boundary surveys, and
ALTA/NSPS
Land Title Surveys. We also handle complex boundary and title-related matters, including boundary disputes and litigation support projects, where the evaluation of deeds, plats, field evidence, survey records, and professional judgment are critical to the final determination. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow as a survey professional and work on real surveying problems rather than solely production drafting of construction-related projects. The right candidate will gain experience with boundary reconciliation, deed and plat research, coordinate geometry, historic survey evidence, LiDAR data, and advanced mapping applications. We utilize Carlson Survey with embedded AutoCAD. Our firm is actively integrating terrestrial, mobile, and aerial LiDAR technologies into surveying workflows. Technicians interested in developing LiDAR processing and remote sensing skills will have opportunities for training and hands-on experience. Responsibilities Prepare boundary, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, and topographic surveys Process field data, coordinate files, and survey calculations Research deeds, plats, easements, title documents, and public records Assist with boundary analysis and survey computations Prepare exhibits, legal descriptions, and mapping products Support LiDAR and geospatial data processing projects as applicable Coordinate with field crews and project surveyors to ensure accurate project deliverables Minimum Requirements Minimum one (1) year of land surveying experience Ability to interpret deeds, plats, and survey records Basic AutoCAD experience Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Experience with Carlson Survey and AutoCAD Experience with boundary surveys and
