POSITION
Survey Field Technician
LOCATION
Flexible / Remote in the Southeast
POSITION SUMMARY AEI
Consultants is currently seeking an experienced Field Technician to join our expanding Land Surveying and Mapping division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Gathering field survey data using GRS/Robotic equipment Performing ALTA Surveys Calculating and determining legal descriptions of property boundaries Operate survey instruments and equipment for a variety of projects such as, topographic, ALTA, boundary, construction, etc. Locates and determines land by measuring and calculating points, elevations, lines, angles, areas, and contours
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of relevant experience required Experience using AutoCAD preferred Previous experience conducting ALTA Surveys preferred Willingness to travel within the United States required (anticipated travel is 1-2 weeks per trip) Resourceful self-starter Strong verbal and written communications skills Knowledge of basic math and the types of measurements related to land surveying including linear, angular, elevations and unit systems conversion required Ability to perform physical movements and operate tools and equipment outdoors in a variety of climates
EDUCATION
High school diploma/GED diploma
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment may be both indoors and outdoors. Indoor work takes place in a typical office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Outdoor work requires the ability to effectively perform work in all types of weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, type, handle office and/or field equipment, speak and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, balance, kneel or crouch. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus.
