Job Description

Job Title:
Survey Technician Job Description As a Survey Technician, you will play a critical role in coordinating field monitoring activities, utilizing advanced equipment and software to ensure precise data collection. You will assist in the installation and setup of field equipment, perform routine calibrations, and work closely with field technicians to guarantee equipment functionality. Additionally, you will analyze collected data, perform statistical calculations, and contribute to site reconnaissance and project documentation. Responsibilities Assist in coordinating field monitoring utilizing equipment and software. Install and set up field equipment for data point collection. Manage routine calibrations and adjustments to ensure measurement accuracy. Work closely with field technicians to ensure equipment is functioning properly. Download, analyze, and process collected field data. Perform statistical calculations and solve problems as they arise. Assist with site reconnaissance activities to assess conditions and potential challenges. Assist in the preparation of project documentation. Essential Skills 2 years of relevant experience with survey instrumentation and data collection. Automated Total Station experience preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying, or related field preferred. Experience with software such as AutoCAD and GeoMos. Experience with office work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with environmental monitoring and land surveying. Familiarity with Leica equipment. Data analysis skills. Work Environment The survey team consists of over 30 employees, primarily working on large infrastructure surveys in NYC, including projects with the DDC, SCA, Port Authority, airports, and roadways. Initial training will be provided in the office, followed by the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid role.
