Job Description
Description We are seeking an experienced Survey CAD Technician to join our team and support the production of high-quality survey drawings and mapping deliverables. This role is heavily focused on preparing accurate survey documents from field-collected data for residential and small-scale construction projects. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed survey maps, plats, and drawings utilizing survey field data and existing project documentation.
- Produce a variety of survey deliverables, including:
- Lot Stakeout Surveys (typical 50' x 100' residential lots)
- Mortgage Surveys
- Topographic Surveys and Maps
- Elevation Certificates
- Boundary Surveys
- As-Built Surveys
- Interpret field notes, survey data, and legal descriptions to create precise CAD drawings.
- Work closely with survey crews and project teams to ensure accuracy and timely project completion.
- Perform drafting revisions and quality control checks to maintain company drafting standards and client expectations.
- Maintain a high level of productivity while producing accurate work, with many standard residential drafting assignments expected to be completed within approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. Any version from 2012 or newer is acceptable.
- Experience preparing survey drawings from field data with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of residential surveying practices, boundary determinations, topographic mapping, and construction-related survey deliverables.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, and the ability to work with PDF documents and markups.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to drafting accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- No specific educational requirements. Relevant surveying and CAD drafting experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. Experience Level Expert Level
- 5+ years of professional experience in survey drafting, surveying support, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise using AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce residential survey deliverables with exceptional accuracy and efficiency.
- Able to work independently and contribute immediately with minimal training or supervision. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00
- $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
