A Surveying or Mapping Technician works with surveyors and cartographers to gather data and create maps. Visits sites and records survey measurements and descriptive data. Selects data needed to create maps, including photos, aerial photos and satellite information, and helps produce and update maps that show boundaries or topographical information.

Job Description

Job Summary:
Use AutoCAD to create pipeline alignment sheets and plats, exhibits and permit drawings used to construct pipeline projects Prepare design drawings with plan, section and detail format or plan and profile as designated Prepare sketches of details not included on existing drawings to accurately reflect as-installed field conditions Prepare drawings, forms, maps, and lists based on approved details provided by designers and engineers
Requirements:
2 - 5 years drafting experience or education equivalent Proficiency in AutoCAD and legal descriptions drafting Oil and gas industry experience required Reading and understanding maps, plat maps, as-builts, construction drawings and gas service records for existing condition interpolation Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D Experience with Route Mapper and/or Plat Mapper preferred
Qualifications:
Applicants will have a basic understanding of survey procedures and data collection and a level of knowledge to work independently. Ability to work on multiple projects using raw field data and computer data. Ability to apply land surveying methodologies, formulas, principles, and techniques to solve surveying related problems. Ability to review their own work for accuracy and completeness and the initiative to recommend solutions or improvements as appropriate. Customer service and team oriented. Should demonstrate they are a self-starter, organized, attentive to detail, and able to work under stress to meet deadlines. Encompass Services, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
