Fields & Associates, Inc. is a growing Land Surveying and Civil Engineering firm specializing in engineering design, land development, and project management on a variety of construction projects in Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland for 40 years. Thanks to our growth, we are seeking a highly motivated Office Survey Technicians at our office in Alexandria, Virginia. Our dedicated team works collaboratively to provide high-quality land surveying, site design, and subdivision planning services to a long-standing client base, fostering a professional yet welcoming work environment. Key Responsibilities:
Process and review field data, including GPS, total station, and level measurements. Draft survey drawings, exhibits, and maps using CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson). Prepare boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and as-built survey documents. Perform deed and record research to support boundary analysis. Manage digital files, datasets, and project documentation according to company standards. Coordinate with field crews to clarify data needs and ensure accurate deliverables. Assist in quality control reviews of survey calculations and CAD files. Compile survey reports, notes, and other documentation for client and regulatory submission.
Qualifications:
Survey office experience or similar technical role preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, or other drafting platforms. Familiarity with GPS and total station workflows, coordinate systems, and survey terminology. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines. Strong communication and organizational skills.
