About us AES Consultants, Inc. is a Land Surveying business in Silverdale, WA. Our goal is to provide our clients with the very best professional services. We support and encourage our employees growth in the field. We currently have 1 licensed land surveyor and one land surveyor in training who have all come up through the ranks under our supervision. This position is an entry level position. As such the majority of the work will be labor intensive. You will work under other employees who will instruct you what to do and teach you the basics of surveying as you progress. While you are expect to do the majority of the manual labor to begin, as you grow and learn we will continue to teach more advanced skills with the goal of promoting within. Successful candidate will work on the survey field crew assisting the collecting data and ensuring accuracy of all measurements. As the Chainmen you will work under experienced Party Chiefs who will instruct them on the proper procedures and techniques while taking field measurements and collecting survey data. All survey work is completed according to established standards. The ideal candidate will have some basic surveying background but we are willing to train the right candidate. All work is outdoors year-round in all kinds of inclement weather. A large part of the job is working throughout northwest forests with thick vegetation and difficult terrain. There will be a lot of cutting of brush.
Responsibilities:
Assist survey crew chief setting up equipment setting survey stakes in the ground. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed. Operate and maintain survey equipment. Cut trails through brush, carrying surveying equipment and hammering survey stakes into the ground Compile field notes and sketches of the daily activities Compute data from field notes and sketches. Qualifications- Preferred experience with GPS, data collection, and land surveying techniques
- Strong mathematical skills including trigonometry and geometry
- physically able to lift heavy equipment, use cutting tools and walk over steep and uneven ground
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Familiarity with construction processes and robotic surveying technology
