A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description Olsson's Survey team combines technical expertise with innovative technology to deliver accurate, reliable solutions that support projects across the company and for our internal and external clients. Our collaborative approach allows us to provide trusted guidance and high-quality service while helping shape the future of surveying. As a Survey CAD Design Associate, you will support a variety of surveying projects by preparing detailed survey drawings, plats, maps, and exhibits using CAD and ORD software. Working closely with surveyors and project teams, you'll interpret survey data, field notes, legal descriptions, and project requirements to develop accurate, high-quality deliverables that support project objectives. This role requires the ability to independently perform complex drafting assignments, maintain QA/QC standards and consistency across project documents, and apply sound technical judgment to meet project needs. As an experienced member of the team, you'll also collaborate with and provide guidance to less experienced staff while helping drive successful project outcomes.

You bring to the team:
Associate degree in Surveying, Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of eight years of experience utilizing CAD software in a surveying, civil engineering, or related technical environment. Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other survey-related software. Strong understanding of surveying principles, terminology, development codes and industry standards. Ability to interpret survey records and data, legal descriptions, field notes, and technical specifications.
