Job Description

Job Title Survey & Field Layout Engineer Job Summary A leading construction team is seeking a Survey & Field Layout Engineer to support a large-scale mission‑critical data center campus in Mesa, AZ . This fully onsite role is responsible for construction layout, survey control, field engineering documentation, and coordination with field layout technicians. The ideal candidate has strong experience with construction surveying, GPS layout, and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings in a fast‑paced, high‑precision environment. Key Responsibilities Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control using Trimble GPS .
Perform construction layout for:
Foundations Vertical formwork (columns and walls) Decks and deck edges Embedded items, block-outs, and contract-required components Establish elevation control points and control lines from known references. Assist in a variety of surveying and field engineering activities. Complete and document as-built surveys per company standards. Manage document control , ensuring all onsite drawings reflect the latest revisions. Track and generate RFIs by reviewing architectural and engineering drawings and identifying field discrepancies. Oversee and support Field Layout Technicians . Maintain proper use, storage, and care of all surveying equipment. Contribute to team objectives by supporting related field and engineering tasks as needed. Work in active construction environments with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and other site conditions. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in field engineering/layout. Proficient in reading and understanding contract drawings, including structural and architectural documents, with the ability to cross-check between them. Ability to meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of construction field engineering from pre-construction to completion. Proficient with Trimble GPS, RTS, and construction management. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma required. Possess OSHA 10 certification. Construction surveying experience, including structural steel and concrete, as well as clash detection. Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screening and BGC. Reliable vehicle and residency in the east valley. Work Environment The position is onsite at the Google MSA project in Mesa, AZ, located off Sossaman and Elliot. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with the possibility of overtime on Saturdays. The role may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions and construction site elements. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
