A Surveyor is responsible for surveying the land available for construction projects. The responsibilities of a construction surveyor include preparation of worksheets, plans, boundary descriptions; providing consultation on land development projects; read a blue print and map; surveying land for various project sites; and communicating with clients, staff, and construction crew. Assist Supervisor or perform other tasks as assigned. Essential Job Skills Be organized and able to follow verbal and written instructions
Be able to work with others and also to work independently on assigned tasks
Be proficient in use of, but not limited to, GPS, Total Station, tape measure and other surveying equipment
Be able to read blueprints, maps and other required surveying or project documents
Put away equipment/tools at the end of the day, and maintain good housekeeping and safety at all times Basic Employment Requirements Prior experience with heavy construction staking, topo, GPS and conventional methods of surveying
Be committed to work safely and to wear all of the required safety equipment
Be able to read and understand Safety and Employment requirements
Be dependable and consistent with regards to attendance and punctuality
Willing and able to work extended hours and possible nights and weekends as required
Tolerate temperature extremes and changing jobsite conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.) Education/Other Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering desired
Certified survey technician designation is a plus
Proficient mathematical and computer skills
