This role offers the opportunity to oversee major projects, lead a high-performing team, and contribute to both technical and business success. Responsibilities Lead and manage the survey department, including field and office staff Oversee daily operations, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency Develop and maintain strong client relationships (owners, developers, agencies, contractors) Implement departmental strategies aligned with company goals Prepare and oversee proposals, contracts, and project financials Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local surveying regulations Review survey data, calculations, and mapping for accuracy and completeness Provide technical expertise in : Survey control and procedures Construction staking and jobsite safety Coordinate geometry and survey calculations CAD and Civil 3D applications Mentor and develop team members Ensure proper documentation, including daily field reports and timesheets Qualifications Minimum 10+ years of land surveying experience (or 12+ years of equivalent work experience) Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying (preferred) California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred (or ability to obtain within 180 days) Strong leadership and team management experience Proficiency in : Civil 3D and CAD software Microsoft Word and Excel Survey equipment and related technologies Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
