Job Title:
Survey Drafter Job Description As a Survey Drafter, you will be responsible for preparing survey drawings and mapping from electronic field data, sketches, existing records, and written or verbal instructions. You will draft a variety of survey deliverables, including boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, easement and right-of-way maps, as-built and utility surveys. Your role will involve importing, managing, and processing survey field data within CAD platforms, as well as developing and maintaining base maps, surfaces, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections. Responsibilities Prepare survey drawings and mapping from electronic field data, sketches, existing records, and written or verbal instructions. Draft a variety of survey deliverables, including boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, easement and right-of-way maps, as-built and utility surveys. Import, manage, and process survey field data within CAD platforms. Develop and maintain base maps, surfaces, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections. Revise drawings based on review comments and redlines to ensure accuracy and consistency. Maintain drawing files. Support projects involving municipal infrastructure, roadways, utilities, stormwater systems, and construction stakeout. Coordinate closely with internal project teams to meet schedules, quality expectations, and client needs. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. 3-5 years of experience in topographic and boundary survey drafting. Strong understanding of topographic surveys, land surveys, civil engineering, pipe networks, and open roads. Additional Skills & Qualifications AutoCAD Certification Civil 3D Certification Experience with Open Roads Software Work Environment The position is onsite at the office five days a week from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The work environment allows for comfortable attire, where employees can wear whatever they feel comfortable in as long as it is professional. Additionally, employees earn one week of PTO as well as paid holidays while on contract. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rocky Hill, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
