Job Description

Overview An opportunity is available for an entry-level Surveyor / Sensor Operator to support aerial mapping and geospatial data acquisition projects. This role combines field surveying with operation of advanced airborne sensor systems, offering hands-on training in LiDAR, photogrammetry, and GIS-related technologies. The position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with survey and mapping projects including LiDAR, topographic, hydrographic, and bathymetric data collection Operate and support airborne sensor systems aboard fixed-wing aircraft Collect, upload, process, and perform quality control (QC) on field data Support GPS, control, and field surveys in accordance with established procedures Assist with installation and basic maintenance of sensor equipment and aircraft systems Track and report on project progress and production metrics Ensure adherence to quality assurance (QA) standards and project deadlines Collaborate with field and office teams to maintain efficiency and accuracy Assist with office-based production tasks during downtime Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and within a team environment Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office GIS experience is a plus Prior experience in surveying or sensor operation is preferred, but not required Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to travel overnight and be deployed for extended periods Comfortable working flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends Ability to fly in aircraft for 3-6 hour missions , potentially multiple times per day Not prone to motion sickness Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Licenses Valid Driver's License required What This Role Offers Hands-on training in LiDAR, aerial mapping, and geospatial technologies Exposure to both field operations and data processing workflows Opportunity to work on projects supporting government and infrastructure initiatives
