  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Survey Crew Chief to lead our land surveying team in executing precise and efficient surveying projects.
As the pivotal leader on-site, you will oversee survey operations, coordinate field crews, and ensure the accurate collection of geospatial data. Your expertise in land surveying techniques, GPS technology, and drafting software will drive project success while maintaining safety standards and quality control. Duties Lead and supervise survey crews in performing land surveys, boundary determinations, topographic mapping, and construction staking Plan daily survey activities, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines Operate and troubleshoot GPS units, total stations, robotic instruments, and other surveying equipment to collect precise geospatial data Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems), AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS software for data processing, drafting, and mapping tasks Maintain detailed field notes, survey records, and digital databases ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards Collaborate with civil engineers, project managers, and clients to interpret survey requirements and deliver actionable results Ensure safety protocols are followed during all field activities while managing equipment maintenance and calibration Requirements Proven experience in land surveying with a strong understanding of construction survey procedures Proficiency in GIS applications such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD for drafting and data management Familiarity with GPS technology, total stations, MicroStation software, and other surveying instruments Knowledge of civil engineering principles related to land development projects Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams effectively in dynamic environments Excellent organizational skills for managing databases and survey documentation Nice-to-have skills include experience with CAD systems beyond AutoCAD, familiarity with databases used for project tracking, knowledge of drafting standards within civil engineering contexts, and previous work on large-scale infrastructure projects. Your technical expertise combined with your leadership drive will ensure our surveying projects are completed with precision and professionalism.
