Job Description

Survey Crew Chief The role is responsible for supervising fieldwork for land surveying, managing multiple projects, and utilizing equipment for accurate records. Verifying that both survey data and general record keeping is accurate, legible, and processed in a timely fashion. Performing training and adherence to safety and operational requirements as necessary. Addressing communication with clients and the public in a professional and comprehensible manner. Job duties include but are not limited to : Utilize survey equipment and crew members to locate, review, and research job locations. Identifying landmarks, physical objects, and significant land changes that would affect the survey required. Supervise survey work, evaluate priorities, and coordinate work efforts. Review the standard of work being performed and derive necessary field calculations from work completed. Utilize and provide training for survey instruments and equipment as necessary. Ensures that angles, distance, and information are accurate and conform to known regulations and standards. Record and illustrate, in note form, a neat and legible reproduction of work performed. Consult with CAD technicians and provide requested information on jobs. Ensure that the final survey represents a comprehensive and accurate description of the field survey. Perform administrative functions such as completing time sheets, creating vehicle mileage reports, and documenting subsequent expenditures. Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Write reports, business correspondence, and project documents. Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization as necessary. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and ensure compliance as required. Skills required : At least one year of experience as a crew chief in residential (single family homes, subdivisions, etc.) and commercial construction Ability to communicate professionally in English in both verbal and written communications Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and utilize construction math concepts including calculating rate, ratio, and percent Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables Ability to physically maneuver by foot over and around minor obstacles at construction projects and uncleared land Valid driver's license Job type : Full-time position with vacation, paid holidays, and overtime availability. Pay :
starting at $25 per hour Job location : Venice, Florida Personal transportation is required. Dress code is casual and laid back with a slightly more formal attire required only for specific occasions with prior announcement. The work environment is outdoors for the majority with an open office environment available for administrative tasks. Moderate physical activity required by performing somewhat strenuous daily activities on a construction site or uncleared land. Exposure to the outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, and wind.

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
