A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

$140,000
  • $175,000

As our Survey Department Head, you'll step into a key leadership position with the opportunity to expand and shape our growing Geomatics practice throughout the Southeast. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Survey Department Manager or a strong PLS Project Manager looking to take the next step into department leadership.

What You Will Be DoingLead and grow the Georgia-based Survey/Geomatics practiceManage & Grow a team of approximately 6 survey professionals, including field and office staffOversee survey operations, staffing, workflows, schedules, budgets, and project executionReview, certify, and seal survey deliverables as the Georgia Professional Land Surveyor of recordPrepare and review proposals, scopes, and project budgetsCoordinate with engineering, construction, aviation, and land development teamsMentor junior staff and help build the department as new opportunities ariseDrive operational excellence while identifying opportunities for practice growthSupport client relationships and participate in business development effortsManage projects involving boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction staking, utility, and infrastructure surveysWhat You Need For This JobActive Georgia Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (Required)5+ years of land surveying experiencePrevious leadership experience managing survey personnel, crews, technicians, or projectsStrong understanding of boundary, topographic, construction staking, and ALTA surveysExperience reviewing and sealing survey deliverablesProject management and client-facing experienceAbility to oversee operations and guide a growing survey departmentCivil 3D experienceWhat's In It For YouFull benefits package.
