A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate survey drawings and plans based on field data and project requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, proficiency in drafting software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with surveyors and engineers.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed survey drawings and plans using CAD software based on field data and specifications.
  • Review survey data for accuracy and completeness before drafting.
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to ensure drawings meet project standards.
  • Maintain organized records of all drafted plans and related documents.
  • Make revisions to drawings as needed based on feedback or updated information.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in drafting survey plans or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles and mapping techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and field notes accurately.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
