Job Description
Overview Are you a detail-oriented surveyor with knowledge of topographic and cross-section surveys? As a Survey Party Chief, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy and precision in every aspect of our work. Your expertise in control lines, elevations, contours, and land features will guide project management and work crews, enabling them to execute their tasks with confidence. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to deliver technical insights that directly impact project success. The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia's busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031. Apply now and transform your career with us. What you will be doing Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by field staff. Assist in the evaluation of potential dimensions and other field problems. Perform layout work competently and accurately as specified by survey manager. Provide checking of as-built conditions that require the use of surveying techniques. Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities. Assist with conducting quantity calculations as required. What we are looking for High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related preferred. 3+ years' experience in survey and land mapping required. License Surveyor In Training (LSIT) Certification Valid Driver's License Proven leadership skills. Ability to train and direct staff on a project site. Developing knowledge of topographic and cross-section surveys to support planning, design, materials and cost projections for the project site. Strong communication skills, proven with engineering teams and management on project sites.
