Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Entry Level Land Surveyor to grow with our collaborative team and work on a variety of land development projects. Perform field surveying tasks under the direction of a Party Chief. Operate and adjust surveying instruments including GPS, total stations, and levels. Produce quality raw field data with clear and concise field notes with attention to detail. Work outdoors in variable weather and environmental conditions. Perform some office duties including data download, field notes, keeping good receipt records for expense reports, mileage logs, and daily safety logs. Follow Jacobs's safety protocols. Preserve and enhance the Jacobs brand through knowledge and experience, presenting yourself as a professional at all times. This is a field position that has the following physical demands over a 10-hour period daily when working onsite. Requires physical exertion in various conditions of climate and hilly and hard asphalt/concrete terrain. Requires long periods of standing, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Requires recurring lifting of moderately heavy items (~50 lbs.) such as surveying equipment and related surveying field items. Requires general physical and mental characteristics and abilities leading to above-average agility and dexterity, adaptability, to different field conditions, knowledge of safety protocols and procedures Out of town travel will be required (approximately 80%) high school diploma Valid driver's license Ideally, you'll also have: Experience in Leica and Trimble surveying equipment An understanding of GDOT coding list UAV operation and remote pilot license Experience in locating and marking underground utilities Experience in routing surveys, railroad, topographic mapping, laser scanning, or other infrastructure surveys Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
