A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Company Overview:
A growing engineering firm in the Des Moines area is looking to add a Survey Crew Chief to their team!
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform fieldwork for Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Plat of Surveys and Construction Staking. Document field notes. Operate GPS, total stations, and data collectors. Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders. Provide communication to the office teams regarding project status, daily progress, and arising issues. Maintain productive working relationships with clients and coworkers.
Qualifications and Requirements:
5 years of experience in survey
