Full Job Description Summary:
Perform various construction surveying related tasks utilizing Trimble GPS, survey, and CAD software in order to produce clear, complete, and concise results in a timely manner.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Train, educate and assist field personnel in the use and operation of Machine Control GPS equipment Site localization and set-up, pre-construction surveys, production surveys and as-builts as necessary Verify Machine Control calibrations, maintain and troubleshoot GPS problems when necessary Perform site staking/layout and grade checking as necessary Produce quantity reports for project managers and superintendents Practice good recordkeeping skills for survey logs and recordsRequirements:
Strong mathematical skills. Excellent Communication skills both oral and written when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clients Experience with surveying equipment Proficient with MS office software Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferred Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications Must be a motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advance Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditions Must be willing to travel. Must possess clean driving record to drive company vehicleEducation and Experience:
AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years related field experience Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. This exam is essential to ensure that all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position.
