What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Using atmospheric corrosion equipment, surveys the Company's exposed gas system to find and report the exact location of atmospheric corrosion or the need for other corrective actions. Maintains all related documents, forms and/or electronic records to comply with Company procedures. Plans, schedules and performs AC survey to ensure compliance deadlines are met.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AC
Surveyor Apprentice ($28.05 per hour) Must have valid Driver's License and safe driving record. Must have basic knowledge of computer software, hardware and internet. High school diploma or GED equivalency. AC Surveyor B ($33.10 per hour) Must have valid Driver's License and safe driving record. Must have basic knowledge of computer software, hardware, and internet. High school diploma or GED equivalency. AC Surveyor A ($37.51 per hour) Must have valid Driver's License and safe driving record. Must have basic knowledge of computer software, hardware, and internet. High school diploma or GED equivalency.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered. Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks. Workers are subjected to outside environmental conditions, where weather temperatures can range from 100+ degrees in summer to minus 30 degrees in winter, depending on area. This position requires you to live within the boundaries of the emergency standby coverage area. Should be able to walk 7
  • 10 miles daily.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect all exposed portions of services, mains, and other gas facilities for corrosion caused by atmospheric influences. Inspect and maintain AC survey equipment in accordance with Company guidelines. Safely operate all required tools, equipment and vehicles according to Company policies and procedures. Utilizes all company supplied personal safety equipment as required. Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned. AC Surveyor Apprentice Wage
