A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Bring your field leadership to a small, established surveying team in River Forest, IL where client-first service and hands-on autonomy drive real project outcomes. In this Crew Chief opportunity, you'll lead survey crews, collect accurate field data, and help deliver ALTA/NSPS, mortgage, condominium, construction, boundary, and topographic surveys from start to finish. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Crew Chief position include: 3-5 years of land surveying field experience Previous experience leading or supervising a survey crew Experience with boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/NSPS, mortgage, and/or condominium surveys Proficiency with Trimble equipment, GPS systems, and robotic total stations Ability to interpret plans, plats, legal descriptions, and survey documentation Strong understanding of field procedures, survey control, and data collection Lead and coordinate daily activities for a field survey crew, plan assignments, and ensure crews have the information and equipment needed Perform and oversee fieldwork, review field notes and collected data for accuracy, and coordinate with Professional Land Surveyors, project managers, and office staff
Salary:
$45-$50/hr
