The ideal candidate will operate and maintain survey vessels while performing hydrographic surveys on the Mississippi River. Responsibilities Responsible for calibrating GPS, ladder sensor, topographic and hydrographic sounding devices to ensure accurate positioning of dredge and to obtain accurate surveys. Communicates with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to obtain dredging orders and specific information to complete dredging assignments. Responsible for assigned assets including vessels, barges, equipment and materials. Thorough knowledge of the project plans and specifications. Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately. Preform daily reports and additional required written communication. Support and encourage team member's learning and development. Qualifications Experience with working in a marine environment on the inland waterway and especially the Mississippi River is not required but beneficial. Minimum 3 years' hydrographical surveying experience. Must maintain the highest level of safety in all aspects of the job. Must possess excellent technical skills, as well as good oral and written communication skills. Must be fluent in Microsoft Office and other standard software applications. High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license Consecutive weeks away from home. Willing to train the right candidate.
