Take Charge in the Field as a Survey Crew Chief — Lead Operations, Strengthen Teams, Deliver High-Quality Results Are you a skilled survey professional who enjoys taking ownership of field operations and guiding crews through complex project sites? Do you thrive in hands-on environments where leadership, problem-solving, and attention to detail drive success? CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our Survey Geospatial Team in Norwell, MA . In this role, you will oversee day-to-day field activities that support critical transportation projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong team coordination. This opportunity is ideal for a driven leader who combines technical expertise with a collaborative approach and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality survey data.
What You'll Do:
Direct and lead field crew members through daily survey assignments, ensuring safe, efficient, and well‑coordinated field operations in alignment with safety protocols and quality assurance standards Perform record research, construction stakeout, boundary, topographic, transportation, and utility surveys utilizing total stations, data collectors, and GPS Review legal documents, plans, and project materials to accurately plan and execute surveying projects and task goal establishment Create and verify field sketches and field computations related to traversing, map interpretation, and layout
What You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree and/or Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of related experience required Strong knowledge of surveying practices, field procedures, and industry standards Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred; knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred Strong leadership, communication, and team‑coordination skills with the ability to represent the firm professionally with clients and the broader public Ability to lift and carry equipment over uneven terrain and work outdoors in all weather conditions Valid driver's license required with the ability to travel short-term NSPS‑CST Level II certification preferred; LSIT preferred

Salary Range:
$32.00 - $40.00 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
