What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Own Boss:
$500 - $1,000+ average pay 1099 independent contractor Flexible schedule Work outdoors at residential properties
What You'll Do:
Visit residential homes to collect photos, measurements, and site condition data using Midwest Survey's mobile survey platform Follow all on-site safety procedures Upload completed surveys promptly with a Quality Control expert Provide a professional and friendly customer experience at every appointment
What You Need:
1 Year experience in solar site surveying, solar installation, home inspection, roofing, or construction (preferred) Must provide your own ladder and basic tools (required - not provided) Smartphone capable of taking clear photos/video Valid driver's license and reliable transportation FAA Part 107 drone license (preferred but not required)
How It Works:
Set your availability with scheduling team Receive notifications when jobs are available in your area
Compensation:
This is a per-survey independent contractor position. Pay is based on completed surveys.
Pay:
$700.00 - $1,500.00 per hour
