Job Title:
Survey Crew Member Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Survey Crew Member to perform field work including topographical, boundary, high definition scanning, and construction staking. This position involves both field and office work, particularly during winter or slower periods, assisting with Survey CAD drafting. Responsibilities + Organize and execute field work to ensure efficiency and accuracy. + Interpret construction plans. + Responsible for electronic data collection and maintaining field notes. + Operate and demonstrate knowledge of all surveying equipment. + Perform field surveying duties that do not require licensure. Essential Skills + At least 2 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief. + Proficient in topographical, boundary, high definition scanning, and construction staking. + Experience with industrial, residential/subdivision, and municipal projects. + Ability to travel to job sites throughout Southeast Michigan. + Possession of a valid Driver's License. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with drone technology. + 5 or more years of experience in land surveying, ALTA, and Survey
CAD. + 3
years or more experience as a Crew Chief. + Associates or higher degree in a related field. Work Environment The position primarily involves fieldwork at job sites in and around Ann Arbor and the surrounding areas. Core working hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM, but flexibility is required, with hours potentially ranging from 45 to 60 per week depending on project deadlines and scope. The role offers opportunities for growth and advancement, supported by an employee-owned company structure that provides profit sharing, bonuses, and stock options after a few years of employment. Benefits include 401K with a 6% match, tuition reimbursement, and overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $37.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
