Full Job Description Title :
Field Technician, Pavement Management Group Primary Function :
Responsible for supporting a project from evaluation and pre-design through post-construction, including participation in developing required documents. Provide field quality assurance and control on Pavement projects.
Reports To :
Regional Manager Responsibilities :
  • Represent the Firm in a Professional Manner.
  • Follow applicable guidelines as listed in the Quality Manual.
  • Follow Company standards as described in the StructureTec Employee Handbook.
  • Use of reprographic and office equipment, including copier and fax machines.
  • Continuing education to improve technical knowledge/skills through outside and in-house programs, seminars, training sessions, site visits, trade periodicals, and other resources.
  • Contact with Client—coordinate information and communications between Owner and team, review scope changes, review Contractor invoices, and work with responsible director for fee billings.
  • Maintain and coordinate project files.
  • Complete assignments efficiently in a timely and complete manner as required by the project and/or supervisor.
  • Perform miscellaneous corporate projects, as assigned.
  • All other duties as apparent or assigned.
  • Must have an understanding of the following techniques and procedures:
Evaluation Phase:
  • Client Interview
  • Tramex, material testing
  • Evaluation formats
  • Schematic drawings
  • Photo (camera) conditions
  • Construction, Condition, and Recommendation evaluation report
  • Evaluation rating system
  • Project budgets
  • Provide support during in the Design/Development process
  • Construction Documents
  • Coordinate information for specification Bidding
  • Distribution of bidding documents/attend pre-bid conference
  • Coordinate addendum documents
  • Review and tabulate bids
  • Assist with Owner/Contractor contracts Construction Review and Administration/Support Field Operations
  • Site construction visits and progress reports
  • Coordinate site visits
  • Monitor time on project or budget
  • Write field reports and progress reports for all visits and meetings (expertly/ technically)
  • Client contact interaction/review
  • Support pre-construction meetings, progress meetings (attendance and coordination)
  • Submittal review and distribution
  • Coordinate change order documents
  • Review of pay requests
  • Close-out documentation and administration
  • Client performance evaluation and post construction review
Maintenance Program:
  • Perform Warranty Audits for the Pavement Management Group projects
Qualifications:
  • Experience in pavement/asphalt inspections & evaluations.
  • Must have two to four years prior industry project management experience with a minimum of five years industry experience.
  • Good communication skills to effectively work with Clients from beginning design to post construction.
  • Knowledge of project management process as it relates to the business.
  • Knowledge in construction, such as industry standards, materials, codes, contracts, bidding processes, etc.
  • Knowledge in
Q.C. /Q.A.
standards of Pavement/Asphalt.
  • Knowledge and experience in field inspection.
  • Writing skills to write field / evaluation reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a teamwork-oriented environment.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
