This position will function either as the lead of a two-person survey crew or as an independent surveyor. A survey crew chief will be responsible for efficiently completing the field work portion of survey projects. Responsibilities will include surveying projects, performing boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and other survey-related duties as needed. Responsibilities Will Include Supervise and direct field crew personnel Coordinate and communicate effectively with office staff Operate survey equipment and related software efficiently and accurately Perform survey calculations required for field operations Communicate professionally with clients and the general public Prepare, review, and maintain survey notes and project files Maintain survey vehicle cleanliness and ensure it remains in proper working condition Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or significant survey crew experience with a strong interest in advancing into a Crew Chief role. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Demonstrated ability to consistently exercise sound judgment and discretion in all tasks. Strong ability to plan, schedule, and complete work within established budgets and timelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, landscape architects, and environmental professionals. Broad working knowledge of surveying equipment, including Leica instruments. Basic proficiency with personal computers and related software. Experience with, or strong aptitude for, performing a wide variety of surveying project types. Solid understanding of surveying principles and practices. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions year‑round. Authorization to work in the United States required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to navigate and work safely on uneven, slippery, muddy, or snow‑covered terrain. Ability to bend, lift, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Proficiency in using hand tools such as shovels, hammers, and similar equipment Compensation and Benefits Full‑time position, with the possibility of reduced hours or seasonal layoffs depending on workload.
