This position plays an essential role in ensuring accurate data collection and assisting survey crews in completing fieldwork safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of survey instruments and equipment . Perform basic survey tasks under the direction of the Crew Chief, ensuring accurate measurements and proper field procedures. Prepare survey sites by clearing lines, placing markers, and ensuring safe working conditions. Work closely with surveyors and crew members to support daily field operations. Move between survey crews as needed based on workload. Must enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions. Must have basic understanding of mathematical calculations. Must be willing to be a team player and follow directions from survey crew chief. This position offers advancement opportunities including Crew Chief, Survey Technician, and CAD Technician.
Essential Skills:
Must have consistent attendance and dependable performance. Ability to follow instructions and ensure accurate field work. Work effectively with survey crews and supervisors. Be a positive representative of CJW in client and public settings. Valid drivers license required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work outdoors in a wide range of environmental conditions. Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to approximately 40 lbs.
