A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Position Overview :
The LSIT will work under the supervision of licensed professional surveyors to perform field surveys, collect data, prepare survey documents, and assist with various surveying projects. Key Responsibilities :
Conduct field surveys using total stations, GPS receivers, and other surveying equipment Measure and locate property boundaries, easements, and improvements Collect and record topographic, hydrologic, and boundary data Prepare survey plats, maps, and legal descriptions Perform stakeout for construction and excavation projects Research property records, deeds, and historical surveys Assist with subdivision and land development planning Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Maintain accurate field notes and documentation
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field 2+ years of experience in surveying Current LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training) or PLS. Strong math and analytical skills Proficiency with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
