The Long Term Healthcare Surveyor will: Perform surveys and investigations of Nursing Homes and Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/ IIDs) facilities to determine their level of compliance with State and Federal regulations. How does it get done? Long Term Healthcare Surveyor is responsible for: Surveying Long
  • Term Care Healthcare Facilities including: Interviewing residents/ clients and staff of healthcare facilities; Evaluating the facility environment to ensure it meets safety and infection control standards, reviewing records, and ensuring resident/ client rights; Quality of care and quality of life meet regulation standards. Minimum Qualification Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and/or Criminal Justice and two (2) years directly related experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting and in the field at community program sites. Out-of-state travel for training, and extensive statewide, with the occasional overnight travel is required. On-call duties may be required.
