Senior Engagement Specialist

CLASSIFICATION

This is a part-time, flexible position. Some weekend and evening hours will be required.

BASIC DESCRIPTION

To coordinate and carry out a variety of activities and programs for Villa Nueva Senior Housing residents.

FUNCTIONS

1.

Project-based:

Utilizing City of Albuquerque and County of Bernalillo free resources, work in coordination with General Manager of Villa Nueva Senior Housing to arrange for the following: a) Transportation services b) Planning, coordination, and implementation of recreational and health-related activities c) Homemaking services d) Benefit advice e) Educational opportunities f) Use of fitness resources g) Employment opportunities h) Food Assistance/meal delivery/food bank services i) Utility and energy assistance j) Medical and health insurance education and support k) Counseling/therapy l) Care Coordination m) Volunteer opportunities n) Community garden support o) Assisting residents with computer operation and faxing p) Maintain month calendar 2. General a) Utilize office and supplies available in SCLT offices; b) Care for and update computer and other equipment with Executive Director of SCLT; c) Provide a schedule to and keep General Manager of Villa Nueva informed of hours, schedules, and times when he may be needed as a back-up when you are unavailable; d) Collect and record any feedback from Villa residents and act on their recommendations; e) Post, promote, and inform residents of the details of any opportunities or activities; f) Establish a supply budget each year for the Senior Center and stay within that budget.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

a. Experience working with senior population; b. Organized, detailed, and conscientious of any special needs; c. Knowledge of and/or ability to obtain a broad understanding of available resources and services.

Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
