Job Description

GMS is looking at add a Mine Surveyor near Fallon, NV! The successful candidate must have prior experience. The Surveyor plays a critical role in the planning, design, and execution of mining operations by providing accurate and reliable surveying data and support. This role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and proficiency in surveying techniques and equipment. Essential functions include but are not limited to: topographic surveys, mine planning and design, stockpile measurement and monitoring, pit and bench monitoring, drill and blast support, survey data analysis and reporting, safety and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Technical knowledge specific to surveying
  • Ability to work with technical people of other professions
  • Methodical approach to geological problem solving
  • Ability to search for, find and analyze data from multiple sources
  • Creativity in problem-solving
  • Ability to work on and with a team
  • A highly motivated self-starter
  • Attentive communication capabilities and capacity
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in surveying, preferably in the mining industry
  • Proficiency in surveying instruments and software, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and CAD software
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
