A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Surveyor to join our Fourmile project. The successful candidate will provide a high-level of accurate surveying and sampling to the underground mining group. Responsibilities:
The Underground Surveyor is responsible for the following: Responsible for taking accurate measurements of underground and surface workings and maintaining accurate and secure records Assist engineering team with critical functions including stope design and production planning Using engineering designs to guide mining activities Utilize equipment, such as a total station and scanners to generate accurate surveys Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic survey methods preferred Degree in Mining Engineering or applicable experience preferred Knowledge of underground mining methods and design preferred Demonstrate computer skills with 3D drafting programs preferred Strong math and computer skills required Strong verbal and written communication preferred Valid drivers license required Commitment to developing and maintaining a safe work culture required Able to drive assigned company vehicles on surface and underground required Able to walk significant grades, uneven ground, and meet physical requirements of position required Ability to work with minimal supervision required Ability to work safely in underground mining environment required What we can Offer You A comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!
