What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Salary Range:
$60,000
  • $70,000 Full-time Permanent Position with Benefits.
A long-standing surveying and engineering company is seeking to hire survey personnel to perform field surveys on projects throughout Ohio.
REQUIREMENTS
Seeking candidates that have 5 to 10 years' field experience. Ability to work independently or as part of a team/crew. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to stand for extended periods and walk considerable distances. Experience with ODOT Surveying and Mapping Specifications a plus. Ability to review job specifications and determine best method of completing job. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Must be able to keep clear, concise field notes and sketches. Experience with one or all: GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, Terrestrial Scanners, data collectors, automatic levels, drones. Responsible for maintaining survey equipment, supplies, vehicles. Experience downloading data files on personal computers. Familiar with Trimble Business Center, MS Office; Word, Excel. Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving history. Experience with office calculations, public records research. Registration as a Survey Intern or Professional Surveyor optional. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
