What they do
A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Salary Range:
$80,000- $100,000 Full-time Permanent Position with Benefits.
REQUIREMENTS
Registration as an Ohio Professional Surveyor. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team/crew. Experience with ODOT Surveying and Mapping Specifications. Prequalification as an ODOT Right of Way Designer and/or Reviewer. Ability to prepare, review, adhere to project budgets, schedules. Seeking candidates that have good organizational & time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Experience with one or all: GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, Terrestrial Scanners, data collectors, automatic levels, drones. Proper care, maintenance, calibration of field equipment. Use of computer systems and software including: MS Office, Word, Excel, Trimble Business Center, Open Roads Designer. (Civil 3D optional). Experience researching property, road records, chain of title, easements. Ability to determine alignments and property boundaries by resolving field evidence and record documents. Preparation of legal descriptions, closure reports. Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving history. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen. Only U.S. Citizens or persons with a Green Card work permit may apply.
