Job Description
Land Surveying Project Manager / LSIT (Edmond, Oklahoma) Full-Time We are seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager with LSIT qualifications and 4+ years of surveying experience to lead land surveying projects across Oklahoma. This role involves managing field crews, coordinating office and field operations, overseeing project schedules and budgets, performing technical survey tasks, and ensuring compliance with state specific surveying standards and regulations. The position combines fieldwork supervision and office responsibilities, with a focus on boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and related surveys for private, commercial, municipal, and infrastructure clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an LSIT to gain progressive experience toward full Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure in Oklahoma. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage field and office (drafting) teams, including task delegation, performance evaluation, and oversight to deliver projects efficiently, on schedule, and within established budget parameters.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, scopes, and resource plans; proactively manage changes, risks, and contingencies.
- Perform layout calculations and data post-processing using software such as Carlson Survey.
- Supervise the collection and processing of field data for topographic, boundary, utility, as-built, and construction surveys.
- Utilize robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, levels, and other surveying instruments; perform quality control on daily data downloads and backups.
- Verify quality control on field notes, sketches, photos, plats, legal descriptions, and reports turned in by field survey staff.
- Serve as primary client contact; provide updates, address client comments, resolve issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Review and quality-check survey deliverables for accuracy and compliance with Oklahoma statutes, Oklahoma State Board of Licensure rules, and professional standards.
- Integrate safety policies and practices throughout all project phases.
- Mentor junior staff and field personnel; identify issues and implement solutions to improve performance. Qualifications
- Current LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training) status or eligibility and currently working toward Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure in Oklahoma.
- 4+ years of progressive land surveying experience in boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, or related fields.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and related equipment.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D/ Carlson Survey for survey data processing, calculations, and drafting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and standard surveying practices.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with a team-oriented approach.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (travel possible for projects across Oklahoma).
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
