Job Description

This contract and Site Inspectors support the Center for Medicare Services (CMS) through verifying the existence of a provider billing to Medicare, and that the regulations are being followed by those billing to Medicare. The self-employed Independent Contractor Site Inspector will conduct the site verification and screening process according to Medicare guidelines. This is done through photographic documentation of policies, licenses and certifications. These inspections are completed with providers annually to continually verify compliance and at the openings of a new facility. Providers may include doctor's offices, physical therapy, durable medical equipment providers, telemed providers, pharmacies, etc. Independent Contractor Site Inspector will be compensated on a completed item basis, not an hourly rate. Per Item rate can range from $40

Responsibilities of Site Inspectors Include:
Travelling to that location, identify yourself as an inspector and ask for the information required to document. Documenting the requested information by taking photos of the items with your smartphone. Uploading those photos to a secure system app that you download to your phone. Completing a digital report, also within that app, that is associated with the inspection. Providing any required edits or additional information within 48 hours of request Monitoring pending assignments to ensure compliance with due dates Inspections must only be completed between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. They cannot be completed in the evenings, weekends or on federal holidays. These are not investigations or interrogations. This is a site verification of the information required of a provider who bills Medicare.
Competencies of Site Inspectors Include:
Ability to manage case load and meet customer required deadlines Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Exceptional telephone and in person etiquette Communicating with providers This is a contractor position (1099 for tax purposes), not an employee. The workload will vary, based on the needs of the customer, and may require travel within and outside of a home area.
