We're looking for a motivated Survey Crew Chief & Instrument Operator to support a wide range of mapping and land development projects across Eastern North Carolina. What You'll Do Work as a key member of our field crew, collecting accurate land data that drives major development projects. Operate and adjust industry‑leading surveying instruments (Leica/Nikon, digital/automatic levels, GPS, Total Stations). Travel to job sites across diverse terrain and manage all survey equipment on site. Identify survey control points, utilities, and surface features with precision. Create and update clear field sketches and documentation. Survey utility structures such as pedestals, handholes, valves, meters, poles, and more. Record measurements and descriptive data using GPS and data collectors following established standards. Work outdoors year‑round and contribute to meaningful, community‑impacting projects. What You Bring Strong understanding of land surveying and instrument operation. Experience with boundary and topographic surveys. Familiarity with Total Stations, GPS, and standard survey procedures. At least 2 years of surveying experience . Bonus Skills Experience with TOPCON, Robotic Total Stations, TRIMBLE, and advanced GPS equipment. Six months of field survey experience or equivalent training. Associate's degree or higher in surveying/geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field.
