Overview Join our dynamic surveying team as a Survey Crew Chief and lead the charge in land surveying projects that shape communities and infrastructure. In this energetic role, you will oversee field operations, coordinate survey crews, and ensure precise data collection for a variety of civil engineering, construction, and land development projects. Your expertise will drive accurate measurements, detailed schematics, and comprehensive land analysis, all while inspiring your team to achieve excellence. Responsibilities Lead and supervise survey crews in the field, ensuring safety, efficiency, and accuracy during data collection activities Oversee land surveying tasks including topographic surveys, boundary determinations, and construction staking using GPS, total stations, 3D scanners, and other advanced equipment Conduct utility locating to identify underground infrastructure using specialized tools and techniques to prevent project delays or hazards Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to draft schematics, create detailed maps, and analyze survey data Apply principles of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math to perform calculations necessary for precise measurements and data interpretation Manage data collection processes with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ArcGIS, and other spatial analysis tools to produce accurate land surveys and reports Maintain detailed records of field activities, survey notes, sketches, and digital data for project documentation and future reference Requirements Proven experience in land surveying with a strong understanding of land boundaries, construction layouts, and topographic mapping Proficiency with GPS technology, 3D scanners, CAD , Civil 3D software packages Ability to perform complex calculations involving trigonometry, algebra, geometry and math fundamentals accurately under pressure Skilled in the use of hand tools for field adjustments and measurements; capable of heavy lifting when necessary during equipment setup or site work Strong data analysis skills with attention to detail in collecting accurate survey information Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and project stakeholders during all phases of surveying projects This role offers an engaging environment where your technical expertise meets leadership.
