Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Understand project scopes, client expectations, and deliverables in coordination with Project Managers.
  • Support and uphold project safety plans, ensuring full compliance with safety protocols.
  • Perform field surveys including control networks, boundary, topographic, and laser scanning tasks.
  • Collect survey data using Trimble GNSS receivers, total stations, digital levels, laser scanners, and data collectors.
  • Ensure field work complies with local, state, and national regulations.
  • Produce clear, detailed field notes and deliver high-quality data for office processing.
  • Maintain organized records of survey activities and ensure data integrity.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and calibrations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Work outdoors in variable weather conditions and challenging environments.
  • Operate independently with strong task focus and accountability.
  • Represent Jacobs in the field with professionalism and integrity.

  • 2+ years of experience as an Instrument Operator, Party Chief, or Survey Technician.
  • Experience with the following disciplines is preferred: topographic design surveys, laser scanning, UAV pilot, subsurface utilities, boundary and/or ROW.
  • 2+ years of experience in the industry with a proven ability to complete all aspects of a field surveying task.
  • Reputation as a trusted and respected member of the surveying community.
  • Must have good social and communication skills.
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background checks.
  • Clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED. Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience with Trimble equipment and software is preferred.
  • FAA Part 107 pilot's certificate.
  • CST, LSI, or PLS certification.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time.

The base salary range for this position is $58,200.00 to $100,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
