Trimble Civil Engineering Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Surveyor will perform precise field measurements and surveys to support underground utility projects, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and other civil infrastructure. The role involves working closely with engineers, construction teams, and project managers to ensure that projects are designed and constructed accurately according to plans and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field surveys for underground utility construction projects using GPS, total stations, and other surveying instruments. Establish and verify reference points, benchmarks, and layout lines for construction activities. Locate and document existing underground utilities and verify as-built conditions. Prepare accurate field notes, sketches, and survey reports. Assist engineers in interpreting plans and specifications for site layout. Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper alignment, grade, and placement of underground utilities. Maintain surveying equipment and ensure proper calibration. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements while in the field. Support quality control by verifying project dimensions, elevations, and alignments. Participate in pre-construction meetings and coordinate surveying activities with project schedules.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred). 3-5 years of experience in construction surveying, preferably in underground utilities or civil projects.
Knowledge of surveying instruments:
GPS, total stations, levels, and related software. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans. Proficiency in CAD, GIS, or surveying software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, etc.) preferred. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams. Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and traverse uneven terrain.
Physical Requirements:
Fieldwork may require standing, walking, climbing, and carrying equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions for extended periods.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
