JOB DESCRIPTION
Land-Mark Professional Surveying is seeking a full time Land Surveying Instrument Person to assist the Crew Chief in collecting information from the field.
JOB TYPE
Full time, in person, 8-hour shift, Monday - Friday
EXPERIENCE
Not a factor, the employer is willing to provide on the job training. Previous experience that includes field surveying, PLSS boundaries, topographic surveys, as-built surveys, railroad as-built construction, utility pipeline as-built and construction, construction layout is a plus for this position.
EDUCATION
Not a factor.
DRIVER'S LICENSE
Standard's Class C Driver's License is required to operate company vehicles and complete assigned job tasks.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Ability to walk across uneven terrain. Ability to be for extended amounts of time and handle exposure to extreme temperatures. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Availability to travel. Will need to submit background check. Will need to submit drug test. Experience with Trimble equipment, CAD, or field surveying is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in selecting instruments and equipment for the day. Loads and unloads survey equipment and supplies into trucks for daily job duties. Ensures equipment and instruments are restocked, clean, and/or operational. Clears brush or obstacles for line of sight. Searches for and correctly identifies monuments. Sets up and operates equipment, takes measurements, and ensures data accuracy. Measuring using chain, tape, or other methods. Carries rod from point to point for staking. Drives iron rods or wooden stakes. Assists in moving equipment, barricades, and traffic control devices. Assists the party chief with pertinent field tasks.
