Key Responsibilities:
Collaborates effectively in a team setting to produce survey documents that align with project objectives and goals. Prepares comprehensive surveying documents based on initial data provided by the Senior Project Manager/Coordinator with minimal oversight. Identifies potential issues, conflicts, or challenges and proposes solutions for consideration by the Senior Project Manager/Coordinator. Independently researches and applies appropriate survey methods, standards, and requirements. Carefully reviews and monitors own work for precision and completeness. Utilizes project-specific tools, such as standardized checklists, to ensure high-quality documentation. Works efficiently to meet production targets and ensures timely completion of tasks. Continuously seeks opportunities to learn about new technologies and techniques. Assists in training new hires on Yellow Rose Mapping CAD Standards. May be responsible for updating survey CAD base files as necessary. May represent the survey department in company-wide CAD committee meetings and collaborate with department leaders on technical matters. May be tasked with updating survey 'go-by' documents as required.
Minimum Experience and Skills:
Proficient in using the latest versions of specialized land surveying software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D 2015, Carlson 2015, Microstation Select Series 3, and GeoPak Select Series 4. Basic understanding of GPS surveying tasks and Trimble Business Center Software. Skilled with commonly used software such as Microsoft Office. Basic knowledge of advanced surveying principles and procedures, particularly for land and engineering surveying. Capable of conducting basic boundary analysis and making recommendations to a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. Familiar with platting procedures and formats. Able to interpret various technical documents, including deeds, plats, easements, title reports, and construction plans. Capable of preparing legal descriptions and survey plats with minimal supervision. Able to develop instructions for field construction staking. Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, and review authority personnel. Capable of drafting basic reports and correspondence. At least three (3) years of experience as a Survey Technician or in a comparable role.
