Responsibilities Support field surveying activities including GPS surveying, boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and construction surveys using advanced equipment such as Trimble. Assist in operating surveying instruments like total stations, GPS units, and drones to collect accurate data on-site. Prepare survey sketches, schematics, and drawings utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Contribute to the creation of legal descriptions and boundary maps. Aid in managing survey projects by maintaining detailed records of survey data collection and ensuring data accuracy. Collaborate with senior surveyor to interpret survey data for topographic mapping and land development projects. Participate in managing surveying teams during field operations to ensure safety protocols and project deadlines are met efficiently. Qualifications Associate degree in surveying, geomatics, engineering technology, drafting, mathematics, or a related technical field required or strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, mapping, geographic information science, mathematics, civil engineering, or another applicable science or technical field preferred. Current Texas Surveyor-in-Training certification, eligibility to obtain SIT certification, or a demonstrated commitment to completing the education, examination, and experience requirements for professional registration. Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is highly desirable. Basic understanding of GIS applications like ArcGIS and GPS surveying techniques. Knowledge of surveying equipment operation including total stations, GPS units, and Trimble systems. Strong math skills including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and general problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret schematics and construction plans accurately. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting survey findings clearly. Prior experience or coursework related to land surveying or civil engineering projects is a plus but not required.
