- Job Summary
- We are seeking an Instrument Person to join our team. The Instrument Person will be responsible for assisting the survey crew chief in conducting field surveys and collecting data using various tools and equipment.
- Duties
- Assist in setting up and operating surveying instruments such as total stations and levels
- Conduct data collection and measurements in the field
- Utilize hand tools for surveying tasks
- Support the crew chief in surveying activities
- Maintain and calibrate survey equipment
- Requirements
- Proficiency in using hand tools for surveying purposes
- Ability to perform data collection accurately
- Understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and basic surveying principles
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to minimize risks and hazards associated with field surveying work. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and always follow safe work practices. Stay alert and vigilant while working in outdoor environments, especially in areas with uneven terrain, traffic, or adverse weather conditions. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the survey crew chief and take corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent education. Previous experience in surveying . Basic understanding of surveying principles, methods, and equipment. Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team. Physical fitness and stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions and terrain. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus and concentration during repetitive tasks. Good communication skills and willingness to learn and develop new skills on the job. Overall, the Instrument Person plays a crucial role in supporting the surveying crew by assisting with field operations, collecting accurate data, and ensuring the smooth execution of surveying projects.
