Job Description

Job Title:
Geomatics Technician (EXPERIENCED) GeoPoint is a land surveying company with multiple locations, specializing in land development, geomatics, geospatial mapping, commercial surveys, and subsurface utility engineering.
Summary/Objective:
The Geomatics Technician will be responsible for performing advanced geomatics and surveying tasks, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and due diligence in all projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of geomatics principles, advanced technical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct complex field surveys using advanced surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and other geomatics tools. Accurately collect, analyze, and interpret survey data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company protocols. Produce detailed maps, drawings, and reports using CAD software and other mapping technologies. Oversee and manage surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications. Perform quality control checks on survey data and reports to ensure accuracy and precision. Conduct thorough due diligence research and analysis for land development and construction projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of survey data into project planning and execution. Provide guidance and training to junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team. Ensure all surveying activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in geomatics or surveying, with a proven track record of managing complex surveying projects. Proficient in using advanced surveying equipment, CAD software, and GIS applications. Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and technologies.
Certifications:
Professional Surveyor (P.S.) or Certified Survey Technician (CST) Level 3 certification is preferred. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of surveying and data analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve complex surveying challenges. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Regularly engage in sitting, standing, or walking activities. Occasionally handle lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items of varying weights. Perform reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, or twisting motions as needed. Other physical requirements may arise depending on job tasks. Work may be conducted at a desk or workstation situated in confined areas. Experience moderate levels of noise indoors and outdoors. Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as required. Ability to thrive in both team-oriented settings and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
Safety Responsibility:
Adhere to all company and regulatory safety standards and procedures. Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate corrective actions. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions in a timely manner. Participate in safety training and promote a culture of workplace safety.

Some travel may be required.
Pay:
$18.00 - $30.00 per hour
