This role assists with data collection, equipment handling, site setup, and general field operations to ensure survey work is performed accurately, efficiently, and safely. Duties Assist the Party Chief and Instrument Operator in all phases of field surveying, including boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys. Set up, transport, and maintain survey equipment such as tripods, prisms, data collectors, GNSS receivers, levels, and hand tools. Hold prisms, range poles, and grade rods as directed, ensuring proper alignment, plumbing, and stability. Clear line-of-sight for measurements by removing minor obstructions such as vegetation and debris when permitted. Assist with staking, flagging, and marking control points, offsets, hubs, nails, lath, and paint marks per project requirements. Record field notes, sketches, and supplemental measurements as instructed, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Support traffic control and site safety procedures in accordance with company policies and local regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, tools, and equipment before, during, and after fieldwork. Report discrepancies, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or unclear instructions to the Party Chief immediately. Requirements & Experience Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods. Physical ability to lift, carry, and handle survey equipment and materials. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely. Basic understanding of measurements, directions, and construction terminology preferred. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred, or willingness to learn for basic data review and coordination. Willingness to learn surveying methods, procedures, and field equipment operation.
